A teenager was arrested at the Hamilton bus terminal after a fight broke out among school pupils yesterday afternoon.

A police spokesman said a 16-year-old boy believed to have been involved in the incident was arrested and later released, pending further inquiries. Police have appealed for witnesses.

Cleveland Simmons said that he was at the terminal when the fight broke out about 4pm. “The police ran up and whoever they were after ran up onto the City Hall lawn while they chased him.”

He later saw a young man board his bus. He added: “Police came on and strong-armed this guy off. The bus was full. He was resisting, but they got him off and handcuffed him.”
