On Saturday, October 20th the Women’s Day Committee of Allen Temple AME Church will host a Community Outreach Event at the Warren Simmons Field in Sandys from 3pm to 6pm.

Our theme is “Restoration- Uniquely Designed for God’s Glory”, focusing on Psalm 139:14-15 and Ephesians 2:10. Our goal is to uplift the “forgotten” in Society, bringing them encouragement through singing, dancing, testimonies, praise and worship. God has made each of us unique, and blessed us with that “something special “, that belongs only to that one particular individual!

The event will highlight Ms. Sherrie-Lynn Lilley, a Bermudian born woman who currently resides in the US. Sis. Lilly is blind, and she is interested in being an advocate for those with disabilities, and in particular, those who are visually impaired in Bermuda. She will speak on how God has brought her through, despite her challenges. She survived many years of childhood trauma childhood before being being diagnosed with an illness that slowly rendered her completely blind and has now dedicated her life to empowering others.

Our other speakers are Sis. Rickeesha Binns, a gifted vocalist and delivered former drug abuser and Minister Malissa Butterfield of Agape Faith International Ministries who will be the MC for the event.

We will be holding a food bank, and ask that those attending bring a food item, which will be distributed to those in need. We will also be distributing gently used jackets, sweaters and blankets. Soup will also be served during the afternoon.

We have invited various Helping Services in Bermuda to attend, providing information of what they offer, so that individuals can talk privately with them, if needed. The Helping Services are: The Family Centre, Women’s Treatment Centre, Women’s Resource Centre, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, Department of Workforce Development, and Young Women with a Purpose.

are inviting you to this community event. We pray that souls are touched and restored.
