A fundraising drive today at a gas station will mark the 50th anniversary of the annual event.

Hamilton Lions Club members will man the pumps at Terceira’s North Shore Rubis gas station for the annual “Gasorama” in aid of the Bermuda Society for the Blind and the Bermuda Zoological Society.

The event, complete with a costumed lion mascot, will start at 7am and club members asked motorists to chip in with tips to help the two charities.

The Terceira family will also donate the gross profits for the day to the Lions.

Fuel firm Rubis will also offer special deals for members of its Rewards programme to every 50th member buying five litres or more of fuel.

A raffle will also be held as part of the event, with the prize draw held at 6pm.
