Hundreds of people are expected to roam the West End for the Bermuda National Trust Palm Sunday Walk tomorrow.

Organisers said it will provide breathtaking views and visit spectacular sites of national significance, important cemeteries, secluded beauty spots and historic buildings and structures.

There is no charge for participation but $5 donations of would be appreciated.

Parking will be at Cross Island and the organisers encouraged participants to take the ferry from Hamilton.

Participants are advised to wear sensible shoes.

The route is not suitable for strollers and dogs are not permitted. Road users in the West End were also asked to watch out for pedestrians.

Sompo International, the sponsor for the event, said it was a supporter of the Bermuda National Trust and its role in the preservation of the island’s open spaces and heritage

A spokeswoman for the firm said: “We forward to the annual spring walk as a way to promote both environmental awareness and physical and mental health.”

John Barritt & Son will provide refreshments, but participants were advised to bring their own drinks containers as water will be provided

Hot cross buns from Sweet Saak bakery will be available for $2.

The five-mile walk is scheduled to start at Cross Island between 2pm and 3pm and should take 2½ hours to complete.
