Queen Elizabeth Park, Victoria Park and Fort Hamilton will remain locked throughout the weekend in the wake of Hurricane Humberto.

Steven DeSilva, the parks superintendent for the City of Hamilton, said: “A full assessment of the parks and Fort Hamilton is being undertaken today.

“There is a considerable amount of clean up to be carried out to ensure they are safe for use by the public.

“With the hard work and efforts of our crews, the parks and fort will hopefully be open and fully functional on Monday.”

Members of the public are advised to use extreme caution if visiting Albuoy’s Point and Barr’s Bay Park as there are uprooted trees and other vegetational debris.

The public will be advised when the parks reopen.
