The body of a 54-year-old man was found at the foot of a staircase last week, police confirmed yesterday.Simon Hodgson, who it was understood lived in the City of Hamilton, was found unresponsive at the bottom of the outdoor stairs by a guest at the home on South Road, Southampton.A Bermuda Police Service spokesman explained that police and ambulance crews were sent to the property at about 7.30am last Thursday.He said an on-call doctor confirmed the man’s death later that morning. The BPS offered “sincere condolences to his family and friends”.Police said that “the scene was processed and inquiries commenced, which included speaking to individuals who attended a function along with Mr Hodgson at the Southampton home the night before”.A cause of death was being examined, but foul play was not suspected.
