Bermuda’s gamers will soon be able to test their mettle against one another from the comfort of their homes.A spokesman for the BDA Esports League said an online Apex Legends tournament would be held on May 2, with gamers from across the island competing in the popular team-based shooter. The spokesman added: “BDA Esports League have been operating for more than 18 months to put on video game tournaments for Bermuda residents, which are typically held in a designated venue for people to get together and compete. “We have now introduced the first online tournament for players to compete and watch from home. “This is the next step in the evolution of gaming, which allows people from across the globe to join and see how well our players are doing.”The spokesman said Apex Legends was selected for the competition after an online vote and a trial tournament, held on April 11.He said: “We have partnered with Bermemes to host the next tournament which will be held on May 2 for free. “The game can be played on all major platforms including PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.”The spokesman added: “We have moderators who are there to make sure that all of our players follow the rules of the tournament and are respectful to one another.“Above all else, we want to make that sure everyone stays safe and is able to participate in a positive way during the shelter in place.”• To register for the tournament, visit https://discord.gg/gf7bGHV
