A delivery app has temporarily halted food service to make improvements.Sargasso Sea announced in a notice to customers that it would stop restaurant deliveries from 6pm today until TuesdayThe notice said the change would allow for “merchant acclimatisation, agent training and enhancement of Sargasso contactless protocols”.It added: “Sargasso was created as an e-commerce and logistics tool ready to empower each and every business owner. “The recent Covid-19 pandemic has only increased both the need for these tech tools and the people that make it possible.”The notice said merchants should use the time to streamline their procedures, enhance their procedures and adjust estimated delivery times.Sargasso said it would also accept applications for delivery agents, with “express digital training sessions” to take place between 2pm and 5pm tomorrow and Tuesday.Anyone who wants to register should visit https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_jRTABY4sTW-Jm-VX30KGyw.The firm told customers: “As always, our priority is ensuring a seamless e-commerce experience for both the merchant and the consumer and we would like to thank you in advance for your understanding as we enter the next phase of recovery, both as businesses and as a community.”
