Missing dog found
A pitbull missing for a week after it was hit by a car and ran off has been reunited with his owners.
The dog, named Kane, sustained some injuries and lost 6lbs, but is in good health despite the ordeal.
Kristine Simons, Kane’s owner, said she was delighted to have her “baby” back home, thanks to a passer-by who recognised the dog from posters put up around the area he went missing..
Ms Simons said: “We never lost hope we kept on searching and were determined to find him.
“A young lady saw him on Tuesday evening near Port Royal gas station which is right near our house, she drove up to one of the posters and called us. We are over the moon.
“We are so grateful for all the help we had, but we haven’t heard anything from the people who hit him.”
The dog was struck near Port Royal Gas Station in Southampton and was last seen heading in the direction of Somerset.
