US Consulate open for limited services

The U.S. Consulate General continues to follow COVID-19 guidelines issued by the Government of Bermuda. While maintaining adherence to social distancing requirements and Government regulations during Phase 3B, the Consulate is available to provide limited consular services, including U.S. citizen services and emergency visa services. As of June 18, the Consulate is providing passport renewal services for U.S. citizens with passports expiring within the next three months. In addition, U.S. citizen parents who wish to document the citizenship of their children born in Bermuda can request an appointment with the Consular Section. In response to significant worldwide challenges related to the COVID-19 pandemic, the U.S. Department of State suspended routine visa services at all U.S. Embassies and Consulates. At this time, the Consular Section can only assist those who have a need for emergency travel and require a visa. Bermuda passport holders who possess Bermuda status do not require a visa to study in the United States as long as they have a valid I-20 Form, paid the SEVIS Fee, and applied for the I-20 using their Bermuda passport. Students with a valid I-20 Form must travel to the United States using their Bermuda passport. In keeping with the Government of Bermuda guidelines, all visitors to the U.S. Consulate must wear a mask or face covering and will be required to sanitize their hands before entering the building. If you are feeling unwell, please stay at home. All services must be made by appointment only. To schedule an appointment for any of the available services or to request an emergency visa, please contact hamiltonconsulate@state.govAdditional information will be provided when the Consulate is able to expand services further.
