Dame Jennifer Smith has been appointed the board of directors of a data and software company in the United States.The former Progressive Labour Party premier has taken on the role at Washington-based Afiniti, which uses artificial intelligence to assess patterns of human interaction.She said: “Afiniti’s mission to generate economic benefits while improving human interactions is a powerful one.“I look forward to continuing to further increase my involvement in the technology sector and contributing my areas of expertise to the fourth industrial revolution.” Dame Jennifer is joined on the board by Peter Riepenhausen, the chairman of The Resource Group, the principal shareholder of Afiniti.Zia Chishti, CEO and chairman of Afiniti’s board of directors, said: “Dame Jennifer and Mr Riepenhausen are extraordinary individuals that will bring great talent and experience to the Afiniti Board.“Afiniti welcomes them to their new roles, and looks forward to working with them in the years to come.”
