For children aged 8 to 12 years old, RISE Bermuda Summer Day Camp will be running weekly from Monday, July 17th until Friday, August 25th

Located at Willowbank Resort, this is a Christian day camp that explores fun and exciting ways to serve our island; the environment, animals and people.

The camp will run from 9am until 3.30pm, Monday to Friday the weeks of July 17th to 21st, July 24th to 28th, August 7th to 11th, August 14th to 18th, and August 21st to 25th. For Cup Match week, the camp will run from Monday to Wednesday, July 31st to August 2nd.

Early drop off and late pick up are also available at 8am and 5.30pm.

The cost is $250 per week and an extra $50 per week for early drop off/late pick up, or $150 plus $30 for early/after care for the shorter Cup Match Week.

Looking for something fun to do with the whole family? The BSoA are partnering with KBB to host another Trash Art Workshop called Plastics Gone Wild, on Saturday, July 22nd.

From 10am until noon at the Bermuda Society of Arts, adults and children over 8 years old are welcome to join in creating whimsical or statement pieces to help raise awareness about plastic pollution in our oceans.

This workshop is being taught by KBB’s Executive Director Anne Hyde, in preparation for the KBB’s Plastics Gone Wild: Trash Art Show, to take place two weeks later.

The workshop is free to attend, and all materials will be provided, including selections of beach trash.

Join the Department of Community and Cultural Affairs for an evening in celebration of local literature at Bermudian Heartbeats Lecture: Writ Large: New Fiction by Bermuda’s Writers on Tuesday, July 25th.

From 6pm until 8pm in the Bermuda College Library, you can learn about some of Bermuda’s best new fiction written by published, award-winning Bermudian authors; Florenz Webbe Maxwell, Dr. Angela Barry, Adam Gauntlett, Damion K. Wilson, Elizabeth Jones and Nadia Aguiar.

Mt. Zion AME Church invite you to a Benefit Gospel Concert on Saturday, July 29th.

Doors open 7pm at the Mt. Zion Church in Southampton, for a 7:30pm start. The concert will feature the dynamic duo – Last Call, as well as other guest artists.

Funds raised will assist Jeron Clemendor, a student at Oakwood University in Huntsville Alabama, with tuition costs. Jeron is a Computer Science major, minoring in Music Development and Recording.

Tickets cost $25 for general admission or $50 for patrons.

The Bermuda Historical Society Museum invite you to a screening of Emancipation: A Love Story on Saturday, August 26th.

From 11am at the Bermuda Historical Society Museum, this is a film of an original play written during 2009. The play is a powerful work of historical fiction, offering a glimpse into the physical and psychological experiences of the Africans who eventually became African- Bermudians during the course of a transatlantic experience that begins in Angola more than 500 years ago.

There is no cover charge and all are welcome.
