Dear Sir,

Lieutenant-Colonel David Burch has granted the use of ATVs on the Railway Trail.However, it is not clear that these vehicles are to be restricted to electric power only.

This is a requirement that must be enforced. We know that the vehicle shown on TV and driven by the lady news reporter was gas-fuelled.

The objections made, however, totally ignored by Colonel Burch, were I believe on the grounds of two important points: disturbing the peace, and pollution.

Certainly these two key reasons support the need of electric ATV use only. This country is striving to be an environmentally focused island, and to have approval for a gas polluter should be objected to by all our environmental groups.

Clarity is needed from Colonel Burch on this point.
