Wayne Furbert has been named the new chairman of the Public Accounts Committee.

In the House of Assembly yesterday, Speaker Randy Horton also announced that Michael Weeks would be joining the committee. It comes after shadow finance minister David Burt, the former PAC chairman, was elected Opposition leader to replace Marc Bean.

Meanwhile, PLP Senator Renee Ming will take the place of Marc Daniels on the Committee of Interests. Mr Daniels resigned from the Senate after Mr Bean’s resignation from politics earlier this month.
