Roban hosting events this weekend
Walter Roban is hosting events to help children and the needy this weekend.
The transport minister said he is marking the tenth anniversary of his election as an MP with an annual hamper drive and children’s Christmas party.
He said: “It has been an honour and privileged to serve this community and Bermuda for this past ten years.
“I have been loved, encouraged and supported by the so many people in the community in every way. The people of the Pembroke East, North Village and all of Bermuda have for ten years and three elections continued to show their confidence in me as a representative.
“Entrusting me to be a voice for all the goals, aspirations for themselves, family and community has been a most humbling responsibility. I thank all those who have shown such faith in me.”
People who want to donate to the hamper drive should bring items to the Grace Methodist Church tomorrow, from 8am to 1pm, and from 6pm to 9pm. Hampers will be given to the needy at the church on Saturday, from 8am to noon.
The Christmas party is for children aged five to ten who attend Prospect Primary and Victor Scott Schools. It takes place at Prospect Primary School Field, on Saturday, from 1pm to 4pm. Admission is free and by invitation only.
