Kevin Kelley: former Ironshore CEO named adviser at private-equity firm

The former chief executive officer of Ironshore, Kevin Kelley, has joined Aquiline Capital Partners as an executive adviser.

Mr Kelley was chief executive officer of Ironshore from 2008 to 2018 when it was acquired by Liberty Mutual.

He then served as vice-chairman, global risk solutions at Liberty Mutual Insurance before retiring at the end of 2019.

He has now joined Aquiline, which is a New York and London-based private-equity firm that invests in businesses across financial services and technology.

“Kevin is well-respected for his experience helping to guide and build businesses in the insurance industry throughout his distinguished career,” Jeff Greenberg, chairman and CEO of Aquiline, said. “His industry knowledge and expertise are extensive and will be a valuable asset to Aquiline.”

Mr Kelley said: “I am truly excited to be joining Aquiline as the firm has built a strong reputation as a premier player in the insurance industry and, more broadly, in financial services and financial technology. I look forward to working with Jeff and the rest of the Aquiline leadership team.”
