Bermuda’s Red Bull boat gets a makeover

As Team Bermuda prepares to represent the island in next year’s Red Bull Youth America’s Cup, their main training boat recently had a complete makeover with a new design and placement of the team’s logo and sponsor logos.

The high-performance foiling catamaran, a GC32, was branded with a design created by Bermudian Nina Cotterill of KPMG Bermuda as part of KPMG’s sponsorship of the team, and the vinyl patterns and logos were applied by Bermuda Blueprinting.

The boat will be out on the Great Sound regularly over the next couple of weeks as the team are in the midst of an intensive training camp.

The camp includes regular gym sessions, video debriefs and practicing in the GC32, the Phantom, a smaller foiling catamaran, and the two Nacra 17s, an Olympic class non-foiling catamaran.

The Red Bull Youth America’s Cup takes place in June 2017, during the 35th America’s Cup in Bermuda.

It will feature up to 16 teams from around the globe racing in AC45s, the same foiling catamarans that are used in the Louis Vuitton America’s Cup World Series events.
