Get to Know TeamBDA, Bermuda’s home team competing against the world’s best youth sailors in the Red Bull Youth America’s Cup.

This week the 10 members of TeamBDA met with the public in an open meeting to a full Liberty Theatre.

The sentiment of pride and joy in the room was overwhelming. 230 locals gathered to learn more about their home team sailors, all Bermudian youth and to gain insights into their training regime and what makes them tick.

Their coaches are confident the team will be safe and competitive, and will put on a great show for the world.

The incredible thing about this team is that before this opportunity, they were not all sailors.

High performing athletes, yes, but sailing is new to some of them and they are shining.

Due to popular demand, the team will appear again at a free public information session at Liberty Theatre on Wednesday April 26th, 6pm – 7pm.

Three short films will be shown that feature the two girls in the team and the three black sailors, demonstrating how they are all pioneers in the sport of competitive sailing.

The public is encouraged to get there early. Those attending will also receive TeamBDA giveaways.

Another way for Bermuda to support the team is to watch them race in their Qualifier match, June 12th and 13th.

Spectators can watch from the America’s Cup Village in the West end on June 12th or from the water on either day. The finals match race is June 20th and 21st.
