Erica Hawley and the University of Colorado won the Collegiate Conference Championships at the Havasu Triathlons last weekend.

Hawley finished in an impressive time of 2:06.41sec for the Olympic standard distance for a fourth-place finish in the women’s race.

She clocked 16:06 for the 1,500 metres swim, 1:10:14 for the 40 kilometres bike and 40:20 for the 10k run and missed out on the podium by just 11 seconds. Kent Richardson, the globe-trotting Bermudian triathlete, finished first in the 55-59 age group in the Camtry Montevideo Sprint triathlon in Uruguay last weekend.

Richardson, who is presently training at altitude in Ecuador, finished in 1hr 16min and was thirteenth overall.

“I’m thinking the average age was 27, so my thirteenth overall at age 58 was good,” Richardson told Bermuda Triathlon News.
