C-Side too good for Somerset

High-scoring affairs: Futsal action continues at Bermuda College tomorrow

C-Side Freestylers thrashed Somerset 11-3 during the latest round of matches in the men’s Futsal League at Bermuda College.

In the game of the evening, C-Side dominated from start to finish and at half-time led 6-2. Somerset played better in the second half but were beaten 5-3.

Julian Carpenter was the MVP for C-Side after scoring five goals while Jacob Estis was the MVP for Somerset.

In game two, Footy Force were too strong for Hamilton Parish, winning 10-2. Parish were more competitive in the second-half, but Footy scored four more goals to Parish’s one.

Nathan Rego was the MVP for Footy after scoring four goals while Nigel Burgess was outstanding in goal for Parish.

In the third game of the evening Atletico CP beat YMSC 7-1. Despite the scoreline, Social Club gave Atletico all they could handle and at half-time only trailed 4-1.

Atletico struggled in the second-half, but managed to score three more goals to win the game.

Sereika Thomas was MVP for Atletico with Kiwan Bronn the MVP for Social Club.

Action continues tomorrow at 6pm at Bermuda College.

• Footy Promotions will host a Samba Futsal Clinic next weekend at two different venues.

The clinic will be under the direction of Denison Cabral, the president and director of coaching at the Denison Cabral Futsal Academy in Millersville, Maryland, and the technical director of the United States Futsal Federation and Maryland United FC.

In the United States, Denison presently ranks 25th of all-time on points in the history of indoor football.

The Samba Futsal Clinic will be open to boys and girls between the ages of eight and 16 and will be held at the Bermuda College next Friday and Mount Saint Agnes next Saturday and Sunday.
