Depleted Somerset to shuffle their pack

The depth of Somerset Trojans’ squad will be severely tested when they travel away to Goose Gosling Field tomorrow to face Robin Hood in the Premier Division.

The Friendship Trophy holders have been depleted by the loss of key players, leaving coach Danvers Seymour gaping holes to fill in their absences.

Missing are leading trio Trevin Ming, the captain, as well as forwards Justin Corday and Tahj Wade.

Defender Ming went off midway through the first half during Trojans previous league outing at home to Boulevard after pulling a hamstring.

Team-mates Wade and Corday are both suspended after accumulating three yellow cards.

Both Wade and Corday picked up a third booking in their team’s previous match against Boulevard.

Dennis Lister, who replaced the injured Ming, could again get the nod while forward Jaz Ratteray-Smith, who also came on as substitute in Trojan’s 2-2 league draw at home to Boulevard, and Damon Swan could play a starting role in Seymour’s squad.

The West Enders have relied heavily on a 4-3-3 system this season. However, the unavailability of key players may force Seymour to go with two holding midfielders and just one striker up top in the experienced Jonathan Bean.

Trojans are sixth in the table, nine points adrift of leaders North Village.

Seymour’s charges have only lost once in six league games so far, away to Village.

Kyle Lightbourne’s Hood are third in the table, five points off the leaders, and are coming off their first league defeat of the campaign away to Zebras in their previous match.
