The technical department of the Bermuda Football Association has developed the curriculum and syllabus for the National Academy, a milestone for football development in Bermuda.

Stakeholders, players, coaches, administrators and the public are invited to attend either of two presentations next week.

Attendees will have the opportunity to hear first hand the vision of Maurice Lowe, the BFA technical development director, and Don Vickers, the assistant technical development director.

“The document is the culmination of many hours of collaborative work with the National Academy coaches in order to ensure we have a methodology that will progress the game forward and ultimately see continued success on the international stage,” Lowe said. “But, more importantly, it provides a template for those clubs who do not have a curriculum and syllabus for youth development.”

Mark Wade, who replaced Larry Mussenden as BFA president in September, said: “We are delighted to be able to ‘tick off’ another initiative in the BFA’s strategic plan.

“These presentations are keys to communicating the direction of our game. Maurice and his team will also be on hand to help every club develop their own curriculum and syllabus that can be implemented in their youth development programmes.”

The first presentations will be held at 6pm on Monday at the Devonshire Recreation Club, followed by one next Tuesday at Port Royal Golf Club.
