Bermuda drew 2-2 with Grenada in a practice match last night at Progress Park in St Andrew as the two teams geared up for tomorrow’s international at Grenada National Stadium.

Bermuda arrived in Grenada on Tuesday after a two-day training camp in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with teenager Rahzir Jones, a promising young attacking player, drafted into the squad by head coach Andrew Bascome. Jones joined the team in Florida along with college student Justin Donawa and goalkeeper coach John Moreira.

Bermuda opened the scoring after six minutes through Tre Ming before Grenada equalised in the 38th minute through Aaron Pierre to leave the teams deadlocked at the half.

Bermuda went ahead again ten minutes into the second when Willie Clemons netted, only to be denied victory when Kwasim Theadore netted for Grenada with 17 minutes remaining.

“It was a pretty even match, 2-2 was a fair result for a team not playing in a while,” said Kyle Lightbourne, the Bermuda assistant coach. “It was a very competitive game. It was a very difficult pitch to play on. Everyone in the squad got some minutes.”
