Lambe ends pre-season on a high note

On target: Lambe scored in Carlisle's 3-1 win over Blackburn

Reggie Lambe was on target in Carlisle United’s 3-1 victory at home to Blackburn Rovers in a pre-season friendly on Friday night.

Lambe, the Bermuda winger, made it 2-1 in the 41st minute with a close-range finish at the far post as Carlisle finished their pre-season campaign unbeaten.

Carlisle, the Sky Bet League Two side — who play in the league below Blackburn — took the lead in the twelfth minute through an own goal from defender Ryan Nyambe.

Danny Graham, the former Swansea City striker, scored an equaliser for Blackburn five minutes later.

Carlisle sealed the victory in stoppage-time when a clever back-heel from the one remaining unnamed trialist, understood to be Sam Cosgrove, found striker Shaun Miller who tucked the ball past Blackburn goalkeeper David Raya.
