Freddy Hall, the Bermuda goalkeeper, has signed a contract extension with top-flight Irish side Limerick.

The 32-year-old has committed his future to the SSE Airtricity Premier Division side until the end of 2019. Hall said he felt settled at Limerick who he helped storm to the First Division title last term, having suffered relegation during his first season at the club.

“I am glad to have extended my contract,” the former Toronto FC player told the Limerick Leader. “I am pretty settled and comfortable here in Limerick and look forward to the seasons to come.”

Hall joined Limerick midway through the 2015 campaign after turning down a one-year deal to stay with English non-League side Telford United.

Limerick, seventh in the table, lost 3-0 to Dundalk on Friday night after goals from Patrick McEleney, Brian Gatland and Robbie Benson. Hall was an unused substitute.

Reggie Lambe played a full match in Carlisle United’s 2-1 defeat at home to Swindon Town in the opening day of the Sky Bet League Two season.

Luke Norris and Paul Mullin scored either side of half-time for Swindon, while Luke Joyce pulled a goal back for the home side in the 55th minute.

Keith Curle, the Carlisle manager, felt his team did not get the benefit of referee Andy Haines’s decisions in their defeat, in front of a 6,036 crowd at Brunton Park. He thought that Luke Norris’s opener for Swindon may have been offside, while Carlisle’s players insisted Paul Mullin had punched the winner into their net.

Meanwhile, Zeiko Lewis came on as a 64th-minute substitute for Stefano Bonomo in New Red Bulls II’s 2-1 win at home to Rochester Rhinos on Saturday in the Eastern Conference of the United Soccer League.
