Robin Hood open the defence of their Premier Division title on Saturday, September 23 when they entertain Dandy Town at Goose Field Field.

That will be the first weekend for league matches and the first match of the season for Dandy Town, who did not quality for the early-season Dudley Eve Tournament after failing to finish in the top six of the top flightlast term.

However, Town are expected to be one of the main challengers for Hood’s league crown, having picked up some key players in the transfer window.

Town are anxious to have new signing Ian Coke make his debut alongside former Boulevard team-mate Angelo Simmons. Coke was last season’s top scorer and MVP. Town also picked up goalkeeper Troy Hall Jr from PHC and defender Kemon Simmons from Southampton Rangers, while another defender, George Dyer, has returned to St John’s Field after a season with Wolves in the First Division.

Four more Premier Division matches take place on the Sunday when Flanagan’s Onions host PHC at Goose Gosling Field and North Village entertain Boulevard at Bernard Park.

Promoted sides X-Roads and Young Men’s Social Club will also begin their season with home matches. Social Club, back in the top flight after a 37-year absence, make their home debut at Police Field after a switch from PHC Field last season, while X-Roads play their first match in the top division at home at Garrison Field when Devonshire Cougars make the trip to the east end.

Opening First Division matches will see BAA playing Ireland Rangers on the Saturday night before relegated sides Devonshire Colts and Somerset Eagles begin life back in the lower division with home matches. Colts host Rangers, one of the early tips for promotion, at Police Field while Eagles play St David’s at White Hill Field. Paget entertain Hamilton Parish at Southampton Oval and St George’s host Wolves at Wellington Oval.

The semi-finals of the Dudley Eve will take place on Thursday, November 2 at a venue still to be confirmed, with the winners meeting in the final on November 12, the day after the Remembrance Day holiday, which falls on a Saturday.
