Zuill becomes FA’s first Bermudian agent

Helping hand: Vinzie Zuill, the Footy Promotions president is a FA registered agent

Vinzie Zuill, the president of Footy Promotions, has become the first Bermudian female FA registered agent.

Zuill, a former executive on the Bermuda Football Coaches Association, will now be able to assist Bermudian players with trials and contract negotiations in Britain.

“Fifa introduced new regulations in 2015, in which they replaced players’ agents with FA registered intermediaries,” Zuill said.

“Given this, intermediaries are now required to register with a national association in the region that they are conducting activity on behalf of players and clubs.

“I am now in a great position to further assist players from Bermuda with trials, contract negotiations, marketing in the United Kingdom.”

Zuill, who helped set up the Corona League side Footy Kings, said Footy Promotions had been specialising in player development and placement since it was set up in 2011.

She now hopes to use her services to “support Bermudians, manage their careers and work in their best interest”.

Zuill said: “We have provided opportunities to Bermudian players by hosting the UK trials company and bringing representatives from top clubs to evaluate and train players.

“All the players that have benefited from these opportunities have performed and represented Bermuda well.”

Zuill has also completed a course in talent identification and is presently managing ten local players.

“This course will help me to identify talent and provide players with the guidance needed to take their game to the next level and prepare for opportunities,” she said.

Footy Promotions runs a futsal programme, for 5 to 15-year-olds, a Footy Star programme for 10 to 19-year-olds, as well as player development events directed by Eurique Wilkin.

“In an effort to reduce initial cost by sending players overseas, club scouts from Europe will regularly be on the island to see the talent here in Bermuda.” Zuill added.

“By next year, the Footy Star brand will operate as a management company and will look to manage more players and provide opportunities in different regions.”
