Local pair selected by BFA for Russia trip

The Bermuda Football Association has selected youngsters Amir Dill and Majesty Wilson to travel to Moscow, Russia, for the Football for Friendship programme in June.

Dill, a national academy player, and Wilson, who will represent Bermuda as a youth journalist, will accompany Crenstant Williams, the BFA second vice-president, and Ricketta Warner, the BFA Women’s Live Your Goals coach to the event, which runs from June 8 to 15.

Both youngsters had to submit an essay on why they should be selected.

The event, implemented by Gazprom, will precede the World Cup held in Russia this summer. Its aim is to cultivate in the younger generation important values and interest in a healthy lifestyle through football. Gazprom has invited two youngsters from each of Fifa’s 211 member associations.
