Rangers thrash Parish

Donte Brangman scored for Rangers

Hamilton Parish, who opened their season with a 5-0 victory over Wolves last weekend, were brought back down to earth after suffering a 6-1 defeat to Southampton Rangers at Wellington Oval yesterday.

Rangers also collected another red card to go with the three sendings off they picked up last weekend during their 1-1 draw at home to Ireland Rangers, when Jarazinho Bassett, their signing from St George’s, was ejected in the 38th minute for foul and abusive language towards referee Tracy Adams.

Bassett opened his account in the sixteenth minute before captain Ezekiel Stoneham doubled their lead in the 37th minute, as Rangers went into the second half with a comfortable lead and a man down.

The goals continued to flow during the second half after midfielder Chris Caisey pulled one back for Parish in the 70th minute before Rangers sealed the emphatic win with four goals in the final 18 minutes.

Midfielder Donte Brangman made it 3-1 in the 72nd minute before two goals by Caldre Burgess in the 75th and 89th minutes cushioned Rangers’ lead.

Stoneham closed out the scoring with his second goal in the 90th minute.

Shaki Swan’s second-half penalty gave Flanagan’s Onions a 1-0 win against league newcomers Vasco at Goose Gosling Field on Saturday night to make it two wins out of two.

Swan scored the winner on the hour mark after a Vasco player was adjudged to have handled in the area.

St George’s drew 1-1 with Somerset Eagles at Wellington Oval on Saturday

In yesterday’s other matches, Wolves enjoyed a 4-2 triumph over Devonshire Colts while Ireland Rangers secured a 4-0 win over Young Men’s Social Club.
