Danté Leverock netted his eighth goal of the season and the game winner in Narva Trans 3-2 home win over Tillinna Kalev at Kalevi Stadium on Wednesday.

The Bermuda defender scored a header from a corner in the box to secure maximum points for the hosts, whose triumph guarantees them of at least finishing in the top four in the Estonia Premier League this term.

“It was an important victory for us as our minimum objective was to finish top four in the league, and we have achieved that, so that’s a good feeling,” Leverock told The Royal Gazette.

“Adding another goal to my tally this season is a bonus as winning the match was most important for me.”

Scoring winners has become somewhat of a habit for the 26-year-old who has achieved the feat on a handful of occasions during his debut season with the club.

The former Harrisburg City and Ilkeston player’s outstanding exploits at both ends of the pitch have earned him the honour of being named in the Estonia Premier Division Team twice already.

“It’s been a great season for me personally, better than I expected,” Leverock said. “I’m happy with how things have gone which is something to build on next season.

“We have a handful of games left until end of season so looking to finish strong.”

Leverock is also looking forward to the opportunity of representing Bermuda again when the national team host Sint Maarten in their second Concacaf Nations League qualifying match at the National Stadium on October 12.

The home side will be looking to get their campaign on track after losing 3-1 to Aruba in their opening qualifying match in Curaçao last month.

“I’m looking forward to playing in front of the home crowd next week and helping Bermuda to get back to winning ways,” Leverock said.

“I think it’s a massive game for Bermuda and we have to approach it in that way; a must win for the national league table and confidence.”

Bermuda are also at home against El Salvador on November 16 before finishing their qualifying campaign with an away tie against Dominican Republic on March 24.

Those games will determine the three divisions for the Nations League, which starts in September 2019, as well as the ten remaining Gold Cup spots.
