Kacy Milan Butterfield has signed an 18-month contract with English non-League side Kidderminster Harriers.

The 21-year-old has already featured five times for Kidderminster’s first team, who play in the National League North, since being called up from the club’s academy.

Butterfield, who was released by Sky Bet League One outfit Walsall at the end of last season, played a key part in Kidderminster’s 4-1 win at home to Chester last weekend.

“I think I’ve been doing very well so far; I just want to keep on doing that,” Butterfield said. “Being involved with the first team has been a great experience for me and I’ve enjoyed my whole time here “I have just got to keep pushing forward.”

Butterfield is no stranger to the muck and nettles of non-League football. He had on-loan spells at Leamington and Rushall Olympic while he was with Walsall.

The former Bermuda Under-20 midfielder signed an initial one-year deal with Walsall in 2016 before signing an extension to his contract.

He was recommended to the Walsall by Kyle Lightbourne, the Bermuda coach, who played for the West Midlands club between 1993 to 1997. Butterfield played under Lightbourne at the Concacaf Under-20 Championship in Costa Rica in 2017.

Kidderminster, who are ninth in the table, two points off the promotion play-offs, are at home to York City on Saturday.

Butterfield is the third Bermudian to sign a professional contract this month. Jonté Smith has joined League One side Oxford United, while Zeiko Lewis has signed for United Soccer League Championship side Charleston Battery.
