    On the move: Nathan Trott

Nathan Trott, the West Ham United goalkeeper, has been linked with a loan move to AFC Wimbledon.

The Sky Bet League One side are interested in signing the 20-year-old Bermudian, according to reports in the English media.

Trott is available after West Ham signed goalkeeper David Martin from Millwall this week, the deal arriving just days after the Premier League club signed Spaniard Roberto from Espanyol.

“We have signed goalkeeping David Martin — son of Irons legend Alvin — on a free transfer from Millwall,” David Gold, the West Ham co-owner, tweeted.

“His arrival will allow us to send promising youngster, England youth international Nathan Trott, 20, out on loan next season to gain first-team experience.”

According to London News Online, Wimbledon are keen to make a move to sign Trott, who could replace former Bournemouth loanee Aaron Ramsdale at the southwest London club.

Trott, West Ham’s under-23 goalkeeper, has remained low-key but tweeted: “Ready for whatever is to come.”

Wimbledon, who narrowly avoided relegation to League Two last season, are coached by Wally Downes, a former West Ham first-team coach.

Trott made 12 appearances during a injury-hampered last season for West Ham, ten in Premier League 2 and twice in the Checkatrade Trophy, and also featured in the East London club’s senior squad on three occasions.

The former BAA player signed an initial 2˝-year deal with West Ham in January 2016, which has since been extended twice until 2022.

Trott put another feather in his cap after earning the Premier League 2 Save of the Season Award for the second time in three years.

He received the honour for his superb save in a 2-1 win away to Liverpool last September playing for the Premier League 2 side.

He made his debut for the England Under-20 against Holland in August 2017 and has been capped six times. He was also a member of the England squad that won the 2017 European Under-19 Championship in Georgia.

Trott was named in the England Under-20 team for the defence of their title at the Toulon tournament in France this month but was later ruled out because of injury.
