The West End outfit was boosted by a number of late transfers, including Dion Stovell who helped himself to a first-half brace. Rangers pulled one back late on through substitute Keishon Wilson.It did not take long for Stovell to make his presence felt. He received a square pass from Jaz Ratteray, shifted the ball on to his left boot to create space before finishing sharply into the bottom corner.Rangers’ Damon Ming had a shot fly just over from the edge of the box and Nisbett-Tankard’s effort from similar distance went just wide after taking a deflection. The best chance fell to Jarazinho Bassett, who received a through ball from Shane Hollis that put him one on one with the goalkeeper, but Dequan Crockwell made a good save with is feet. At the other end, Leo Burgess was clean through from a clever flick from Stovell, but the winger’s decision to pass instead of shoot let the home team off the hook. Rangers carved out another chance with some slick movement, but Nick Mello was unable to hit the target. The home team’s profligacy came back to haunt them, when Stovell picked up a ball just outside the box, this time moving the ball to his right before finishing hard and low into the same corner.
