St George’s went top of the First Division after thrashing Devonshire Colts 5-1 in a top-of-the-table clash at Devonshire Recreation Club on Sunday. The win extended St George’s unbeaten run to six games, with the only blemish being the goal they conceded in the 47th minute when Charles Trott scored from a corner. It was the first goal they have let in this season.St George’s were already 3-0 up at the interval after scoring three goals in six minutes midway through the first half. Jahron Dickinson broke the deadlock in the 21st minute and Damon Darrell made it 2-0 two minutes later before an own goal was scored by Deszion Davis in the 27th minute. After Trott pulled one back, St George’s regained their three-goal lead through Alleyne Francis in the 53rd minute after a run into the box on the right side before shooting past goalkeeper Jaden Mills-Furbert. Jahkai Brangman closed out the scoring in the 74th minute with a header into the far post after a ball into the box from the right side. Darrell dislocated a finger on his right hand in injury time, with Julesa Robinson, the Devonshire Colts medic, coming to his assistance to put the finger back in place. “We’re a little disappointed to concede the goal, we didn’t attack the ball aggressively at the corner,” Jarreau Hayward, the St George’s coach, said.“Just one goal conceded in the campaign, so I’m proud of my guys. We ended up with eight men due to injuries. We’re not even worried about anybody else, when we play Vasco [in second place] is when we will worry about Vasco. “Our next game is [Flanagan’s] Onions and we’ll focus on them. When Vasco comes around [on December 15] we’ll focus on Vasco.”Vasco, still also unbeaten, had to come from two goals down to draw with Wolves who led after two Tyree Robinson goals in the 44th and 47th minutes. Ryan Lopes pulled one back in the 51st before Jorge Costa earned a point with a strike in the 79th minute. Elsewhere, Onions recorded a 2-0 win over Social Club at Goose Gosling Field.The home side led 1-0 at the half on Treshun Smith’s 36th-minute strike.Laquan Tomas then doubled Onions advantage and all but made the points safe in the 56th minute when he converted from the penalty spot after the visiting side were blown for a foul in the box.At Lord’s, Kontai Burton grabbed a late winner to earn St David’s a hard-fought 3-2 win over a battling Ireland Rangers.The home side seemed to be cruising to victory after jumping out to a 2-0 lead on goals from Dimitri Butterfield and Jamal Woodley.However, Ireland Rangers hit back with goals from Sakai Proctor and Wayne Hill bringing the teams level to leave the game hanging in the balance until Burton’s 84th minute winner finally settled this see-saw battle.
