The title race is heating up nicely in the Premier Division, with three teams still in the running.The top two meet in a blockbuster curtain-raiser today, with leaders North Village at home to Robin Hood at Bernard Park at 3pm.Hood, who have failed to score in only one of their 12 league games this season, edged Village 2-1 in their last meeting. Strikers Keishen Bean and Jaizel Smith-DeShields are Village’s top scorers with six goals each. Robin Hood and Bermuda winger Lejaun Simmons is the top scorer in the division with ten goals.The third club in the race are Dandy Town, who are just five points behind leaders Village heading into the final stretch of games.Town host struggling Somerset Eagles tomorrow at St John’s Field. Eagles defender Lorenzo Burch thinks the West End side must work together to pull off the upset. “We need to fight together and work hard,” the 35-year-old said. “We must try and get goals as well.”Captain Anwar Telford is the top scorer for Eagles this term with three goals, while winger Nathan Rego and midfielder Teniko Eve have two goals each.Meanwhile, Southampton Rangers visit X-Roads at Garrison Field tomorrow. The home side trail their guests by one point heading into this match. Rangers captain Donte Brangman says his side have to convert their chances to win the match.Their top scorer is Keishon Wilson with five goals, with Jarazinho Bassett and Shayne Hollis scoring three goals each.“We have to work on our finishing,” the Bermuda left back said. “We get into promising positions, but we are not shooting.”Rangers are going into the match at full strength. “We have a full squad,” the 20-year-old noted.The midfielder added Rangers have to win in the East End to remain in control of their chances of survival.“This game is critical in our fight against relegation,” he said. “We are capable of remaining in mid-table.”In other matches, Devonshire Cougars visit bottom side Boulevard at Goose Gosling Field. Despite having picked up only one point this season, the home side did push Cougars very close before falling 2-0 in the reverse fixture at Devonshire Recreation Club.Cougars, who fell to Southampton Rangers in the Friendship Trophy final, sit in mid-table, and are winless in their past four games in all competitions.Rivals Somerset Trojans and PHC lock horns at Somerset Cricket Club. These sides are separated by just three points. They met at PHC Field on the opening day of the season, with PHC winning 3-2.This match certainly promises goals, as PHC and Somerset have two of the top finishers in the division. Midfielder Marco Warren, PHC’s top scorer, is on seven goals. Somerset Trojans winger Jaz Ratteray-Smith is their top marksman on five.
