Tevahn Tyrell has been granted international clearance and is now looking forward to making his debut for Durham City. The Bermuda forward signed for the National League Division Two side on February 18, just two days after scoring in his final game for former club Robin Hood in their 3-0 FA Cup quarter-final win over Somerset Trojans.Durham are away to Jarrow FC tomorrow at Perth Green.“I’m looking forward to playing as soon as possible,” he told Durham’s website. “We’ve had a few games cancelled, so I’m buzzing for training and the match on Saturday away at Jarrow.”Durham suffered a 4-0 defeat away to Crook Town at The Sir Tom Cowie Millfield ground in their previous outing. They were scheduled to host West Allotment Celtic at Hall Lane on Tuesday but the match was postponed because of snow and a waterlogged pitch.Durham are anchored at the bottom of the standings, having taken eight points from 25 matches. Still, Tyrell is optimistic the club can turn their flagging fortunes around and avoid taking the plunge.“We have 13 games left and I really do believe we can achieve safety and be better prepared for next season,” he said. The 22-year-old is convinced that the club is on the right track.“Durham is a club looking to change things up and is heading in the right direction,” he said.“Having spoken with John [coach Woolnough], just after he became the new director of football, he explained the future plans and how keen he was to bring me in.“I know John from when I went on trial in England in the summer, and he has helped other Bermudian players, so I knew I was in good hands. I hope this is the start of a good relationship for myself the club and future Bermuda footballers.”Tyrell arrives at Durham City with previous experience playing in England with Northern Premier League sides Ilkeston and Mickleover Sports.
