Bermuda beat Peru in lacrosse

Drew Jenkins scored twice for Bermuda against Peru

The Bermuda lacrosse team defeated Peru 16-4 in the FIL Men’s World Championships in Israel today.

Bobby Walker scored a hat-trick while Armand Wilson, Rance Cole and Drew Jenkins each struck twice.

Bermuda’s other scorers were Zach Perry, Josiah Greve, John Bonvetti, Liam Rance, Tucker Moore, James Chiappa and Stephen Michel.

The islanders, who play their final game today against the winner of Uganda and Mexico, have a record of four wins and three defeats at the competition, which runs until Saturday.

They lost their opening two games to Wales 4-1 and Puerto Rico 18-3 before beating Hungry 7-6.

Bermuda then thrashed Luxembourg 17-2 before losing to Chinese Taipei 10-3 but bounced back with a 10-1 win over Croatia.

Ranked 24th in the world, Bermuda have joined 45 other counties at the championships — the largest in the history of the event.
