Flora Duffy continued her preparation for the International Triathlon Union World Triathlon Series Bermuda in the perfect fashion by claiming victory in the De-aL Cycling/KILLARNEY Nite Series Criterium event in South Africa.

Bermudian Duffy, who is training out in South Africa, took the opportunity to compete in the local event and ultimately raced home to take the honours ahead of Bianca Holzkampf and Robin Bolten in the Ladies race.

The timely success comes as welcome news ahead of Bermuda once again hosting the World Triathlon Series event for a second successive year, starting on Saturday, April 27.

Hamilton will be the venue once again for the televised international event, with the signature blue carpet finish line on Front Street, the scene of two-times ITU World Triathlon Series World Champion Duffy’s victory last year in front of her adoring home crowd.

This will be the second of three annual World Series Triathlon events that Bermuda will host; in 2021 the island will be home to the ITU Grand Final and Age Group World Championships.
