Big Wave Riders, the Bermuda national alumni team, defeated Paradise Hitters, a Bermuda junior club team, in the Bermuda Open volleyball tournament at Warwick Academy at the weekend.

The alumni team won the match in three sets. In the bronze-medal match, Team American Balls from Baltimore beat Bermuda’s junior national team.

In the women’s division, the gold-medal match pitted visiting Mount Allison University from Sackville, New Brunswick, against Bermuda’s senior women’s A team, Island Spice.

The match was competitive, with Mount Allison clinching the win in two sets. BDA Masters, the national alumni team, won the bronze medal after beating Bermuda junior girls’ national team in two sets.

Island Time, the senior women’s B team, defeated Paradise Hitters, a Bermuda junior club outfit, the consolation final.
