When work doesn’t pay

No progress: even Premier Michael Dunkley seems to be powerless to get anything done about this situation (Photograph by Akil Simmons)
Dear Sir,
I have a friend who has been working for more than eight weeks now. They were supposed to get paid by the health insurance department. Everything was set up, agreed to and approved, yet this person has not been paid and now faces a life on the streets because they cannot pay their rent.
They have reached out to the Premier, who seems to be powerless to get anything done. Is this how the Government treats hard-working citizens who are trying to survive?
They cry about the amount of people on financial assistance, yet their own actions put them there.
This is a very sad situation.
