Hodson’s stop repairs are overdue

First Prev 1 2 Next Last

Dear Sir,

I have been visiting Bermuda on vacation for more than 25 years, during which time I have seen many changes.

My wife and I survived the latest hurricanes and have been impressed by the prompt reaction to see the damage repaired and life returned to normal.

As my wife and I have grown older, we have taken to using the buses and ferries, particularly the Hodson’s Bay stop. It is disappointing, therefore, to see that little appears to have been done to repair the damage caused by hurricanes Fay and Gonzalo a couple of years ago.

The attached photographs show the lamppost fallen down against the shelter. There is also no longer a lifebuoy and part of the seating has disappeared.

The latter may be owing to vandalism, but nevertheless is an eyesore. It may also be a security/safety issue.

What one sees, one tends to remember and it would be good to see some attention given to improving the stop.
