Bus service along route 1 has largely been restored today — although service to some areas of Hamilton Parish must wait until further cleanup work is completed.

According to a statement by the Department of Public Transportation: “Normal service is from Hamilton to the Town of St George via South Road including Mid Ocean Club, but at this time DPT is not able to service Mid Ocean because of ongoing post-hurricane work.

“Therefore the bus from Hamilton will turn left down Devil’s Hole Hill, turn right onto Harrington Sound Road and continue to St George. The return trip from St George will use the same route.”

The department stated that it would notify the public when service to Mid Ocean resumes.
