Community. This past week we experienced one of the worst hurricanes ever!

Very strong winds, storm surges, and a lot of damage to homes, businesses and our vegetation will take many weeks to go back to green from the salt-burnt brown.

Years of experience has Bermudians ready for such storms so beyond the damage above everyone was safe and recovery for many with power and communications was fairly quick.

So in many ways we dodged a bullet!

The lack of communication capability had everyone in our neighbourhood out after the storm had passed with their families taking a look and it became an opportunity to meet people and to trade stories and get better acquainted.

There is always a silver lining and in this case community became what was most important. Let’s move forward from this with a renewed sense that together we can make great things happen!
