Forced to buy much more than I want

Bulk buys: a reader says packaged food is made for families, not single people (File photograph)

Dear Sir,

I have had a growing resentment for some time that I am being forced to buy more than I need.

The packaging is made up for families and not singles.

The price for some creates a difficulty and the amount is more than one person living alone can consume — for it to be fresh.

The corn sold in large bundles, thanks to the manager at the Supermart, who has listened to my plea, now displays it loose.

Well done.

I am hoping, having told my tale to most stores in Hamilton, that they will follow his example.

Seniors, “live-alones” and people needing financial aid should be the consideration.

I realise that it would not be a financial gain for the market, and that it would probably take extra time, but people in this kind of need would notice and would patronise that store with gratitude and appreciation.
