Bolton quits company to go out on his own

A co-founder and director of Bermuda Project Managers is quitting the company to go out on his own.

It was announced yesterday that Martin Bolton is setting up his own project management company in the new year to be called Project Services Ltd, to work as an independent consultant for all areas of the construction development process on both commercial and residential projects.

Mr. Bolton founded Bermuda Project Managers with Adam Hawley and Ian Feathers in 1997, as the first company focused on project management of construction projects.

In his new capacity, Mr. Bolton will reportedly offer owners and developers advice on the construction process from the start of the project right through to occupancy.

He was said to have 35 years experience as a construction professional.

Upon graduation with a degree in Civil Engineering, Mr. Bolton joined a firm of civil engineering contactors in northern England. He worked in the UK and the Middle East before moving to Bermuda to work for a large general contractor.

Later he became a vice-president, premises at the Bank before leaving to join the Bermuda Electric Light Co. in the position of Civil Projects Engineer. In 1996 he left BELCO to form Bermuda Project Managers Ltd, where he was a director for seven years.
