Ricardo Pimental and Kandyelyn Moniz, wish to announce their engagement on November 21, 2004. Wedding plans to be announced at a later date.Mark and Susan Floyd would like to announce the engagement of their daughter Candice Marie Floyd to Christopher Stanley Coleman of Connecticut, son of Mrs. Mary Lynne Porto and Mr. Stanley Coleman. They are to be married on June 18th 2005.

Honour Roll students

The following Suffield students have been named to Suffield Academy's fall term honour roll for their academic achievements:

Ashlyn Keill, a junior, earned high honours. Ashlyn is the daughter of Robert and Tracy Keill of Hamilton.

Benjamin Rego, a sophomore, earned honours. He is the son of Buddy Rego and Jenny Gibbons of Paget.

Matthew Shrubb, a sophomore, earned honours. He is the son of Peter and Judy Shrubb of Warwick.

Founded in 1833, Suffield Academy is an independent, co-educational college preparatory school in Suffield, Connecticut.

Graduation

Charles Leon O'Brien II, son of Charles Leon and Roslyn O' Brien of #19 Smith Hill, St. David's,graduated on June 12 with Honours from the Grenville Christian College, a (University Preparatory School) in Brockville, Canada and he was the first Bermudian to receive the Male Prefect of the Year Award from this school.

Charles attended St. David's Primary School, then the Clearwater Middle School for one year, after which in 1998, he left Bermuda to attend the Venta Preparatory School in Carp, Canada for the next three years.

Upon graduating fron the Venta Preparatory School in 2002, he commenced his studies at the Grenville Christian College.

While at Venta, Charles won the Most Improved Student for two consecutive years 1999-2000 and 2000-2001.

He also won for two consecutive years the Awards for the Male Athlete of the Year 2000-2001 and 2001-2002.

He was also presented with the Andrew Tanchuk Memorial Award 2001-2002. The reason for this Award as outlined on the plaque: “This Award is presented to themember of each graduatiing class who has best exemplified the School's motto of developing fully one's potential - academically, social and spiritually.”

Since September 2004, Charles has attended the Georgian College in Barrie, Ontario, Canada where he has been accepted in the Mechanical Engineering Technology-Automotive Manufacturing, which is a three year programme.

Attending the graduation were his parents and sister, Mrs. Bethany Butcher.

Honour Roll Students

Academic honours at Westminster School in Simsbury, Connecticut, were recently announced for the fall of 2004.

The following students fromBermuda were named:

Nathalie A.West, a senior, received honours. Nathalie is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Terrett M.West of Pembroke Parish.

William A.Cooper, a senior, received honours. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles F.A. Cooper of Hamilton.

Founded in 1888, Westminster School is an independent, coeducational secondary boarding and day school in Simsbury, Connecticut. This year's student enrolment is 370, with students representing 22 states and 14 countries. Westminster's mission is to educate young people by providing a variety of academic, athletic and artistic opportunities that cultivate a passion for learning through developing character, talents and commitment to service.
