Police nab suspected drink driver

Police stopped a 54-year-old suspected drink driver on Friday night after he was seen swerving across the road.

Officers on patrol on North Shore Road, Hamilton, stopped to speak to the man after he stopped in the middle of the road near Shelly Bay beach.

The man told Police he was just waiting for traffic to pass before driving on towards St. George's, but when he did move on, Police saw him continuously swerving from the eastbound lane to the westbound one.

The vehicle was stopped and the man was arrested and taken to Hamilton Police Station.

Christmas tree collection on Wednesday

Bermudians have another chance to get rid of their Christmas trees this Wednesday when Works and Engineering have another Island-wide Christmas tree collection.

Any remaining Christmas trees which were not collected during the last tree collection date should be placed in the same location as regular garbage and recyclables by 7.30 a.m. on Wednesday morning.

Government reminded residents that all decorations and lights must be removed, and trees should not be placed in tree bags.
