Housing team unveiled
Five people will make Government's five-year housing plan happen, Housing Minister Ashfield DeVent said yesterday.
Mr. DeVent (pictured) named his cross-Ministry housing team. West End Development Company general manager Lloyd Telford, Bermuda Land Development Company CEO Patrick Jones and Bermuda Housing Corporation general manager Vance Campbell will represent the Island's housing quangos.
Director of Planning Rudolph Hollis is also on the team along with Acting Permanent Secretary of Works & Engineering Alexander Ming.
“After consulting with the quangos, they were all ready to assist,” Mr. DeVent said. “The quangos desired to participate. The idea was met with co-operation and approval.”
Mr. Devent will receive weekly reports on the team's findings, via Junior Housing Minister Senator Raymond Tannock. The team will oversee production of a brochure as part of its public relations plan and will create posters to be displayed at banks and post offices. They will also hold regular Press conferences to inform the public of their findings.
