Hotel plans for a special occasion
Cambridge Beaches hotel is hoping to receive planning permission to build a wooden deck for special occasions such as weddings and candlelit dinners.
The application to the Development Applications Board seeks alterations and additions to the existing sea wall and terrace. Michael Winfield, president of Cambridge Beaches, said the deck would be built in the area close to the west side beach.
The wooden deck will be about 400 square feet, he added.
Masters remaining mum on intentions
Home appliance store Masters is keeping tight-lipped on possible expansion plans.
Construction crews have been busy at the Dundonald Street site in the last few weeks installing 15,000 gallon water tanks ? a planning requirement for buildings with a certain roof length. An eight to ten foot trench was dredged of water yesterday afternoon before the tanks could be buried in the ground.
