Vasco were able to overcome their jinx team Prospect and emerge with a 3-2 victory at St. John's field yesterday.

Several times in the past the boys in blue have managed to derail their more fancied opponents, but on this day Vasco proved the better outfit and held onto their lead atop the Second Division.

The score was tied at the half following strikes by Vasco's Larance Durham and Trent Lightbourne of Prospect.

Vasco made for the final scoreline as they scored all the goals in the second half with Scott Morton, Paul Towlson and an own goal by Donovan Livingston accounting for the final scoreline.

Paget 0, BAA 1 Goalkeeper Kevin Mallory became the `goat' in Paget's 1-0 loss against BAA in the curtain-raiser at Devonshire Rec. field when he punched the ball into his own net while attempting to clear a corner kick in the 55th minute.

This came after Paget looked like holding out their opponents in a match played under treacherous weather conditions.

The resulted enabled BAA to move out of the cellar past Paget and into eighth place.

Somerset Eagles 1, Wolves 2 Marlon Lindsay struck his sixth goal in four games to take his tally for the season to nine as Wolves continued their promotion push at White Hill field.

Lindsay opened the scoring in the eighth minute and added a second in the 60th -- his second double strike in four days -- before Antoine Brangman pulled one back for Eagles in the 68th minute.

Eagles had some good chances late in the match but third-placed Wolves hung on for victory.

Port Royal 1, Southampton 2 Rangers stayed in second place in the standings thanks to Lamar Seymour's winner eight minutes from the end at White Hill field.

Ascento Russell shot Rangers ahead in the 40th minute only to see Michael Bean equalise for last-placed Port Royal 10 minutes after the restart.

Seymour's late winner from a goalmouth scramble sent Port Royal crashing to their sixth loss in seven matches, while Rangers stayed a point behind leaders Vasco.
